Buckby Locks - Page 1
The Grand Union Canal is closed for navigation until the end of January 2002 about 300 yards east of Norton Junction at the top lock of the Buckby flight of locks, adjacent to the New Inn, to enable British Waterways to carry out lock maintenance.
These photographs are a record of some of the activities at the top lock.

Day 1 - British Waterways work boats move in
Hoist erected to enable removal of gate arm
"Dam boards" are lowered into place to dam the canal just above top lock
Each board is lowered onto the board below and forced into the canal (6 boards in total) to create a Dam
